Executive Director, ACCET

Mr. Helfer’s ACCET journey spans 30 years, first as a student at an ACCET-accredited school, then as an instructor, and ultimately as a school owner for over 20 years. He served as a Commissioner and Chair of the ACCET Commission. Finally, after selling his school, he joined ACCET as a Senior Accreditation Coordinator in 2019. Mr. Helfer has participated in numerous site visits to vocational, avocational, and Intensive English Schools. He is widely known and respected by ACCET staff and members and deeply understands accreditation, ACCET standards, and the ACCET culture. Mr. Helfer was elected as the ACCET Executive Director in April 2022. In this role, he is responsible for leading ACCET’s day-to-day professional accreditation services and working collaboratively with ACCET staff to implement the Commission’s strategic initiatives.
