Kelly McClendon is faculty at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas where she serves as the coordinator of and lecturer in the Intensive English Program. She also serves as a member of the university Academic Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Receiving her MA in TESL from Oklahoma State University, she taught in places such as Tianjin, China and Tokyo, Japan. Besides experience teaching English language at the university level for over 20 years, she has taught in K-12 and Adult Basic Education contexts in Oklahoma and Kansas. Recently, her career has focused on international student integration into campus life, promotion of inclusive classroom environments and curriculum, program accreditation, and faculty professional development.
