Karin deJonge-Kannan, with a PhD in Linguistics from Indiana University, is Emeritus Principal Lecturer of Linguistics at Utah State University, where she taught in the Master of Second Language Teaching program for 23 years, serving as its co-director for 13 years. Dr. deJonge-Kannan has worked with school teachers and university instructors in Chile, China, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, in addition to designing and organizing professional development programs at Utah State University for teachers from around the world, with funding from the US Department of State. She is a two-time Fulbright award recipient, has presented regionally and internationally on a wide range of teaching-related topics, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal for Empowering Teaching Excellence. Her current project is co-editing the open-access book ""Documenting teaching excellence: Promoting the university’s vital mission"", which will be published in May, 2025.
