Jennifer Brown is a Program Officer in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). She supports EducationUSA’s international student advising activities across the Western Hemisphere region. She has been overseeing academic exchange programs at ECA since May 2012.  Before joining the Department of State, Jennifer managed AmeriCorps programs at the Corporation for National and Community Service and was a Desk Officer in the Africa Region of Peace Corps headquarters. Jennifer has also worked at several non-profit organizations including AFS and a refugee organization.  She has also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer, AmeriCorps VISTA member, and a fourth-grade teacher. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Pomona College.
