Dr. Fernando Fleurquin is the Director of Marketing, Communications and Stakeholder Relations at Michigan Language Assessment, University of Michigan. With over 30 years of experience in the ESL and EFL fields, Fleurquin is an English teacher and a medical doctor and has a master’s degree in marketing and business management and an EdD degree in Higher Education (University of North Texas). He has directed English programs in Uruguay and intensive English programs in Maryland (UMBC) and Texas (University of North Texas). Fleurquin has presented at conferences in over twenty countries on English teaching, teacher development, language testing, standards, leadership, and program administration and evaluation, and he has served in different capacities for professional organizations (TESOL International, UCIEP: Consortium of College and University Intensive English Programs) and as site reviewer for CEA: Commission on English Language Program Accreditation.
