Executive Board Bio
Kim Andersen is the Founder and Director of Empire State English, established in 2012, and oversees its intensive and part-time English programs. She also founded the Capital Region Language Center, which specializes in professional development training, curriculum design, and instruction in various world languages including English. With a graduate degree in education focusing on TESOL and more than 30 years in education, Kim brings extensive experience in teaching ESL in the U.S. and abroad. As the Compliance Manager and PDSO for Empire State English, Kim has successfully led the school through New York State and SEVP certifications and CEA accreditation. In addition to her administrative roles, she is a CEA site reviewer and continues to teach. Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, hiking, practicing yoga, and planning escapes from New York winters.
