Carol Olausen (MA), Director of the American Culture & English Program at Miami University, has spent 30 years working in education, and, for the past 14 years, she has worked specifically with university-bound international students teaching ESL and directing programs offering conditional admission to international students. In both the classroom and in administration, her work with students and colleagues has been focused on building bridges of understanding between differing perspectives and cultures through proactive and inclusive initiatives that build agency and engagement.
